“Culture China, Festival Globe” North AmericaTour Show proved a success

Hosted by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council China and China Overseas Exchanges Association, group art troupes of ” Culture China, Festival Globe” put on the last show in Vancouver for North American tour on February 16, 2012. As a co-organizer, CCCICA participated in this grand event from the start to the end.

The Vancouver fashion theater which can accommodate 1,200 people were all packed that evening viewing the audience responding cheerfully to the stage performance. Such a wonderful performance has been rarely seen in Vancouver before, commented Yuan Ming, who was invited as a rep.to perform on the stage with one of the singers.

Richard Lee, a MP of British Columbia, told reporters after watching the performance that such a show like “Culture China ,Festival Globe” meant so much to the overseas Chinese, as it carries a lot Chinese taste which gradually is taking its root in the Chinese community.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper just took his second visit to China the week before, which he believes firmly ,would help further strengthen the Sino-Canadian relations.

“Sino-Canadian relations have increasingly been strengthened, not just in the areas of economic cooperation and cultural exchange, but also inspired us how to establish relations with the Asia-Pacific region, like tonight’s performance, which is an enhanced method of community cohesion, so that we can further broaden the development of economic and trade relations with China even Asia”, said Richard Lee.

Ren Qiliang, The Leader of North American Tour Troupe as well as deputy director of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency , “It proved to be a complete success with tickets sold out for each show, acquiring a positive evaluation from the majority of overseas Chinese.” he continued ,”Many overseas Chinese, young and old, get very excited,especially when some songs evoke their homesickness, for instance ,when an old-fashioned song “That’s me” rises “, lots of them are moved to tears.

Zhang Junsai ,Chinese Ambassador to Canada ,also told reporters before the start of the show, “After years of touring the world ,”Culture China, Festival Globe” is playing a role of comforting Overseas Chinese as a whole by bringing them more closer as well as further strengthening their the centripetal force towards each other as a nation.
