On the evening of February 14, “Canada-China Friendship”Spring Festival Gathering was being held by CCCICA . Liu Fei, Consul General of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Vancouver ,together with the business community, overseas Chinese, Chinese-funded enterprises and media representatives spent a quality time welcoming the upcoming New Year and treasured the long-established friendship among them .In her speech, Liu Fei expressed the hope that both the new and old generation of overseas Chinese are supposed to stay closely united to enhance our images in Canada as a whole while Chinese-funded enterprises and the business communities are obliged to actively support the activities of the Chinese associations to jointly contribute to the Chinese community in Vancouver.David Teng, Chairman of CCCICA first extended a warm welcome to all the guests present and by taking a glance back at the major events hosted by CCCICA during last year in 2012, he also drew a blueprint for prospects of CCCICA in future.Here is the list of distinguished guests at this Gathering worth to mention: Chairman Zhu Zhanlun, Deputy Chairman Mai boqiang from Chinese Benevolent Association in Vancouver, Mr. Xu Junhong, General Manager of Air China, Ms. Cheng Shaohong,General Manager of China Southern Airlines , Mr. Lin Huaze, Chairman of the Chinatown Merchants Association, Mr. Huang Guoyu, Chairman of All-Canada Chinese Merchants Union Association, Mr. He Liangmao, Editor-in- Chief of Xingdao Daily, News Director of New Era TV, Mr. Ren Dawei, Editor-in-Chief of Fortune World Magazine, and Ms. Wang Manxia, President of Chinese Language Association of BC., etc.

 

David Teng also pointed out that 2012 Canada-China Investment Summit and Celebrating New Year with Prime Minister Stephen Harper ,which have been held by CCCICA during last year,are two major events of great significance that have attracted broad attention and exerted a profound impact on bilateral relations between these two countries.
