Xiong Changliang, Secretary General of Overseas Chinese Office of China’s State Council , and his delegation arrived in Vancouver on May 1 for 4 days’business visit . Mr.Xiong, having ever worked for a couple of years at China’s General Consulate in Vancouver, did his utmost to fulfill his duty as a devoted servant for overseas Chinese affairs, establishing a profound friendship with overseas Chinese communities. So Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association, together with CCCICA and Chinese communities,threw a welcoming party on his return for a visit.

In his remark, Mr.Xiong showed great affections on recalling his past experience of developing a sound and pleasant partnership with current various Chinese communities when he worked here almost a decade ago. Now he would like to share the commonly-held dream implanted for all Chinese and was willing to work hard along with overseas Chinese to make this dream come true.

Consul General in Vancouver Liu Fei also expressed her heartfelt welcome and gratitude for Xiong Changliang’s accomplishments he made in the past to lay a good foundation for the thriving future. She suggest strongly in her speech Overseas Chinese and their different organizations should unite together, expanding the influence of the Chinese community, and actively integrate into the local community.
