Canada’s new Senator Victor OH Visits BC

Victor Oh, a modest and soft-spoken Chinese-Canadian business leader and community activist, the founding chairman of Canada-China Business Communication Council,was appointed by Prime minister Harper to the Senate in February of this year, making him the only ethnically Chinese senator in the 105-member Upper Chamber.

 

During Victor Oh’s visit to BC before National Day ,David Teng, Chairman of CCCICA, threw a welcoming reception for his visit as an old friend sharing something in common,which is they both ever acted as a community leader,having devoted themselves to public services since immigration.

 

David sang highly of Victor’s long-standing contributions to cementing trade and investment between Canada and China. Also, as part of enthusiastic and responsible Chinese-Canadian associations, CCCICA would continue to support him during his 10-year tenure, assisting him building Canada a more vigorous and harmonious society.

 

Victor also praised on David’s efforts and deeds made to promote Sino-Canadian trade relations. In this regard, they would ,in the long run, strengthen mutual collaboration for harmonious coexistence of the various ethnic communities in Canada and enhance bilateral exchange between these two countries.
